Meet Lionel
Lionel Dripps will bring steady, competent leadership to the Advisory Neighborhood Commission when we need it most. He has spent his career as an organizer and staffer defending Americans’ voting rights—including helping millions of Americans register to vote and sign up to vote by mail.
You may have met Lionel picking up his older kid from Bruce Monroe, or taking his younger kid for a walk around our neighborhood. When Mayor Bowser threatened to cut funding for free pre-K, Lionel organized families, residents, and advocates to protect access to early childhood education across DC. As your next Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner (ANC), he will use those proven skills to fight for our community.
As your next ANC for District 4C07, Lionel will:
Make our roads and community safer for families, local businesses, and all our neighbors.
End the rodent infestation by fighting for timely, effective city services to keep our streets clean.
Advocate for small businesses by streamlining the permit process and easing the burdens on our local entrepreneurs.
Support our schools to ensure our community has the world-class educational opportunities our kids deserve.
Connect residents to city resources and help people have their voices heard on the issues important to them.
Invest in the events that make Petworth special—everything from neighborhood cleanups to big events like the Spooktacular and Porchfest.
Fight for more housing so people can afford to live in DC—while making sure developers respect our neighbors.
Investigate why Verizon cell service is so awful in much of our neighborhood.
Protest the authoritarian and corrupt actions of the Trump administration.

About ANC 4C
An ANC (Advisory Neighborhood Commission) is a non-partisan, neighborhood body each made up of locally elected representatives called Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners. Each representative (Commissioner) covers a Single Member District (SMD). The ANC is the neighborhood's official voice and liaison to DC government. They help residents and businesses with a range of issues, such as zoning, transportation safety, liquor and cannabis licenses, and other city services. ANC 4C is one of six ANCs covering Ward 4 and is comprised of 7 SMDs.
